Summary: The Home Office is seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager (SEO) for a 12-month hybrid contract, requiring two days per week in the office and the remainder working from home. The role involves leading procurement activities and providing commercial leadership for complex procurements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies. Candidates must have SC Clearance or be willing to undergo checks, with preference given to those with active clearance. The position is part of the Crossing the Border Technology Services Procurement programme aimed at enhancing border security and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the delivery of key procurement activities and provide commercial leadership for complex and strategic procurements.
- Lead or support the delivery of multi-supplier transition and exit activities, planning the onboarding of new suppliers.
- Produce and deliver Contract Management Plans and procurement plans for goods and services.
- Develop a deep understanding of Technology supply markets and provide commercial options and opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to align on business needs and outcomes.
- Work with Commercial Specialists to develop strategic plans addressing key commercial challenges.
- Ensure commercial risks are identified, understood, and managed throughout the procurement process.
Key Skills:
- Experience in delivering IT-related procurements as part of a commercial team.
- Experience in procurement and commercial best practices.
- Experience working with third-party suppliers.
- Excellent understanding of the full Commercial Lifecycle.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- CIPS / tech or digital experience (desirable).
- Awareness / experience of CCS Frameworks (desirable).
