Summary: A leading investment bank is seeking an Application Services Engineer to support and manage the infrastructure for its Electronic Trading business. The role involves delivering low latency connectivity solutions and applying SRE principles to enhance trading infrastructure performance. The position is based in London and requires a blend of technical skills in application design and infrastructure management. The successful candidate will work closely with Front Office trading teams to meet regulatory needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and support low latency connectivity and monitoring solutions, aligned with Front Office trading and regulatory needs.
  • Apply SRE principles to improve availability, latency, performance, and capacity planning across trading infrastructure.

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience with designing or building applications
  • Familiarity with SRE tools and practices, including infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong working knowledge of messaging Middleware - Solace (ideally)
  • Scripting & automation - Python, Bash or PowerShell
  • Knowledge of FIX, market data, and order routing protocols in a trading environment
  • Experience working across Linux systems
