Summary: The Antibody Discovery and Engineering Scientist role focuses on advancing next-generation antibody therapeutics through molecular biology and microbiological methods. The position involves antibody discovery, protein engineering, and collaboration with computational scientists to develop innovative design approaches. This contract role is initially for 12 months and requires expertise in antibody hit identification and optimization. Candidates should be prepared for a future relocation of the site from Slough to Windlesham, Surrey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in the discovery of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies to support the client pipeline.
- Utilize cutting-edge yeast display for the discovery and optimization of human antibodies aligned with therapeutic targets.
- Design, construct, and perform selections using bespoke synthetic display libraries for in silico de novo antibody discovery.
- Prepare next generation sequencing (NGS) libraries and analyze them to support antibody discovery and engineering.
- Collaborate with computational and CADD scientists to apply AI/Deep learning solutions for high-quality antibody discovery.
- Contribute to the development of new methodologies in antibody display and engineering.
- Work flexibly across project teams to ensure timely delivery of results.
- Present experimental data at cross-functional meetings.
Key Skills:
- PhD (or equivalent) in molecular biology and protein biochemistry, ideally within the antibody space.
- Experience with in vitro display libraries for discovery or protein engineering.
- Knowledge of biochemical techniques for macromolecule characterization (e.g., flow-cytometry, surface plasmon resonance).
- Skills in informatics and computational platforms for molecular visualization and NGS data analysis.
- Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail and critical data analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.
