Summary: The role of Accountant involves managing financial operations related to donations and grants for a leading organization during a 12-month maternity cover. The Accountant will be responsible for financial management, reporting, and process improvements. Key Responsibilities:

• Own the financial management of revenue streams, including managing and reconciling revenue receipts.
• Prepare monthly reports such as P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for leadership.
• Oversee payment processing, running monthly payout reports, and reconciling banking transactions.
• Conduct monthly revenue and grant reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Manage operational expenses, ensuring correct invoice allocations and timely payments.
• Handle Gift Aid reporting, refining data, and submitting reports to HMRC.
• Respond to financial queries from internal teams and external stakeholders, making necessary adjustments.
• Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.

Key Skills:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (actively pursuing further qualification is preferred - ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
• Experience in an accounting function managing high-volume transactions.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and financial analysis tools.
• Experience with automated financial systems (SAP is a plus).
• Ability to reconcile financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Strong time management skills, able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• A methodical and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
