Summary: The Academic Manager at ALPADIA is responsible for overseeing the delivery of English programs at summer camps, ensuring high teaching standards and effective management of teacher/student ratios. This role involves leading a team of EFL teachers, maintaining academic quality, and supporting both staff and students in a diverse educational environment. The position offers opportunities for professional development and requires a commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing. The role is fixed-term for the summer season, providing a dynamic and rewarding experience in an international setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall academic department of the camps, ensuring proper staffing and adherence to guidelines.
  • Deploy teachers based on skills and student needs, and maintain up-to-date academic records.
  • Prepare end-of-course certificates and ensure timely lesson starts and classroom readiness.
  • Monitor student attendance and lead daily Teacher’s Meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to the ALPADIA curriculum and provide support and training to the teaching team.
  • Safeguard student wellbeing and provide exceptional customer service to stakeholders.
  • Conduct teacher observations and identify training needs for professional development.
  • Collaborate with other managers to ensure smooth camp operations and address any issues.

Key Skills:

  • Level 6 Qualification (e.g., TEFLQ Status, DELTA, MA in ELT).
  • 3 years of EFL teaching experience with knowledge of teaching 10 to 17-year-olds.
  • Exceptional customer service and proven leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities under pressure.
  • High degree of IT competency, particularly in MS Office.
  • Experience in administration work, preferably in an ELT environment.
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies.
