Summary: The IT Support Engineer role is a contract position based in Cardiff, requiring a skilled 2nd/3rd Line engineer to provide support while a senior technician is engaged in a project. The ideal candidate should be proficient with Microsoft technologies and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include resolving support tickets, managing networking issues, and handling cybersecurity tasks. This position is essential for maintaining operational efficiency across multiple clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve end user support tickets (mix of on-site and remote)
- Use Intune, Entra, MS365, Azure for endpoint/user support
- Manage LAN/WAN networking issues (ideally Cisco/Sophos/HPE experience)
- Handle day-to-day cybersecurity: firewalls, endpoint protection, email security
- Operate within a fast-moving business, dealing with multiple clients
Key Skills:
- Multi-client environment experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working a helpdesk/service desk role with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra, Intune
- Decent networking background (LAN/WAN, Cisco/Sophos/HPE gear)
- Practical understanding of cyber security tools and issues (firewalls, email/endpoint security)
