Summary: The IT Support Engineer role is a contract position based in Cardiff, requiring a skilled 2nd/3rd Line engineer to provide support while a senior technician is engaged in a project. The ideal candidate should be proficient with Microsoft technologies and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include resolving support tickets, managing networking issues, and handling cybersecurity tasks. This position is essential for maintaining operational efficiency across multiple clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve end user support tickets (mix of on-site and remote)
  • Use Intune, Entra, MS365, Azure for endpoint/user support
  • Manage LAN/WAN networking issues (ideally Cisco/Sophos/HPE experience)
  • Handle day-to-day cybersecurity: firewalls, endpoint protection, email security
  • Operate within a fast-moving business, dealing with multiple clients

Key Skills:

  • Multi-client environment experience strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working a helpdesk/service desk role with minimal supervision
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra, Intune
  • Decent networking background (LAN/WAN, Cisco/Sophos/HPE gear)
  • Practical understanding of cyber security tools and issues (firewalls, email/endpoint security)
