Summary: The 1st line AML Analyst role within the Business Integrity and Corporate Governance team at British International Investment focuses on ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing regulations. The position involves conducting Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) activities, supporting investment leads, and collaborating with the Financial Crime Compliance team. This role is critical in managing financial crime risks and maintaining BII's reputation as a responsible investor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaison and collection of KYC documentation for counterparties to BII transactions, ensuring compliance with AML/CFT regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting with the KYC/CDD periodic review process and ensuring timely completion by Business Integrity deal leads.
  • Producing key statistics and metrics for visibility on periodic reviews and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Providing support on complex structures or unusual investment contexts for KYC onboarding and periodic refresh updates.
  • Vetting positive and false positive screening alerts and recording information for ongoing monitoring.
  • Supporting KYC/CDD-linked research tasks and escalating relevant alerts to Business Integrity deal leads.
  • Supporting KYC Files Remediation and analyzing key risk metrics related to 1st line AML/KYC controls.
  • Providing high-quality administrative support, managing data maintenance and record keeping.

Key Skills:

  • Good working knowledge of UK Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Regulations, Sanctions regulations, and JMLSG Guidance Notes.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of KYC/CDD requirements for UK regulated financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of financial crime methodologies and AML regulatory screening software.
  • University degree or relevant professional qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive and organized.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and build rapport with stakeholders.
  • Experience in cleansing, analyzing, and summarizing financial crime/regulatory data.
  • Knowledge of financial crime regulations and AML/KYC operations in emerging markets is preferable.
