Summary: A leading UK financial services organization is seeking a z Network - Service Engineer to provide technical support and project delivery for its Mainframe networking estate. The role emphasizes infrastructure modernization, resilience improvements, and operational support, ensuring system stability and performance optimization. The engineer will work within change management and Agile/DevOps environments, contributing to key projects while providing on-call and out-of-hours support. This position is hybrid, requiring two days per week onsite in Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain service stability and optimise Mainframe networks.
• Support & implement changes within the estate.
• Resolve incidents and problems within agreed KPIs.
• Provide 24x7 operational support (on-call & out-of-hours as needed).
• Collaborate with stakeholders and align technology solutions with business needs.
• Drive automation, standardisation, and process improvements.

Key Skills:

• Extensive Mainframe networking experience (z/OS & z/VM).
• Strong knowledge of Communication Server, SNA, TCP/IP.
• Expertise in session management tools (TPX, CL/Supersession, NC-Access).
• Experience with network monitoring tools (IBM NetView).
• Proficient in JCL, USS, SDSF, and Mainframe system administration.
• Hands-on experience in incident resolution & troubleshooting critical systems.
• Familiarity with ITIL best practices, change management & automation (REXX, Unix Shell, JCL).
• Experience working in Agile & DevOps environments with tools like Jira & Confluence.
• Understanding of disaster recovery, security protocols & compliance standards.
