The Role
We're looking for a YouTube Growth Strategist to own and scale our channel. This is hands-on: you'll be the person optimising every title, thumbnail, description, and tag — not managing a team that does it. You'll obsess over click-through rates, audience retention curves, and the feedback loop between content and algorithm. You'll also lead our cross-platform audience strategy, turning long-form interviews into a content ecosystem that captures viewers from LinkedIn, Shorts, Reels, and search.
What You'll Do
- Craft and A/B test titles, thumbnails, and descriptions for every episode
- Develop and execute a subscriber and watch time growth strategy
- Live in YouTube Studio — monitor CTR, average view duration, impressions, and traffic sources
- Identify the most compelling 60–90 second moments from long-form episodes and produce Shorts and LinkedIn clips
- Research search intent for health and science topics and optimise channel SEO
- Work with designers (or directly in Canva/Figma) to produce scroll-stopping thumbnails
- Manage comments, community tab, and audience engagement
- Coordinate cross-platform distribution across YouTube, LinkedIn, and other channels
Essential Experience
- Demonstrable experience growing a YouTube channel (ideally in education, health, science, or long-form interview formats) — show us the numbers
- Deep fluency in YouTube Studio analytics — you can read a retention graph and immediately know what to fix
- Proven ability to write titles that balance SEO, curiosity, and accuracy
- Experience running A/B tests on thumbnails and titles with a data-driven approach
- Strong instinct for short-form content — you can watch a 50-minute interview and spot the three clips that will perform
- Familiarity with the health, science, or life sciences space — you don't need a medical degree, but you need to care about the subject matter
- Self-starter who can own the pipeline from upload to performance review
- Experience with podcast-to-YouTube workflows
- Thumbnail design skills
- Understanding of LinkedIn's algorithm for professional audiences
How to Apply
Send your CV along with:
- A link to a YouTube channel you've grown (with context on your contribution and the results)
- Pick any existing episode on our channel — rewrite the title, description, and tags, and tell us why your version would outperform
- A 5-minute max Loom video of why you feel you are the right fit
