Summary: The Workforce Product Owner will lead the development of user-centered digital products and services aimed at enhancing the lives of millions. This role involves managing the entire product lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that products meet user needs and organizational goals. The position emphasizes continuous improvement and effective communication with stakeholders to secure funding and support for agile delivery. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping innovative solutions within the NHS Business Services Authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the design and iteration of products/services, defining scopes and priorities based on user needs and business goals.
  • Ensure successful delivery of user-centered products throughout the product lifecycle, maintaining product vision and roadmap.
  • Utilize product management principles to capture and translate user needs into actionable outcomes.
  • Monitor service quality and set appropriate KPIs, leveraging qualitative and quantitative data for informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with operational delivery teams to overcome constraints and ensure products meet the needs of users and operational teams.
  • Lead the securing of funding for agile delivery through effective business cases and pitches to stakeholders.
  • Act as an ambassador for the product, being the primary point of contact for product-related queries.
  • Support the identification of development initiatives to promote and improve services through digitization.
  • Develop strong networks internally and externally to promote integration of digital improvement activities.

Key Skills:

  • Recognized management qualification equivalent to a degree and/or significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in user-centered design, technology, and data perspectives.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and product management principles.
  • Ability to analyze user needs and align product roadmaps with strategic goals.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing competing priorities and adapting products/services to meet user needs.
  • Knowledge of NHS and NHSBSA services is desirable.
  • Ability to make informed decisions based on user needs and available technology.
