Join the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance as our Workforce and Education Programme Manager, where you ll lead transformative initiatives to expand and enhance the cancer workforce across Greater Manchester.In this vital role, you ll work alongside the Programme Director and Senior Programme Lead for Workforce and Education, driving the delivery of a comprehensive Workforce and Education Programme. Your work will directly support the National Long Term Workforce Plan, translating national policies into practical solutions that equip healthcare professionals with the skills needed to provide exceptional care for people affected by cancer.This is your chance to lead innovative programmes, foster collaboration across teams and care settings, and make a meaningful difference in workforce transformation and education delivery. We re looking for someone with a strategic mindset, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to education and workforce development.If you re ready to play a key role in shaping healthcare for the future, we want to hear from you! The post is 1.0 WTE and is fixed term until March 2026 in the first instance. Secondment requests will be considered. The interview date will be held on 30th Jan 2025.Oversee the delivery of The Greater Manchester Cancer Workforce and education programme delivery plan, aligned to the GM People and Culture strategyLead regional / national work related to workforce, education and transformation.Work in a matrix management way across the alliance, being able to identify and draw in contributions and expertise from other teams as requiredProvide line managementFacilitate full and active patient and carer involvement in the workBuild relationships across the GM system, including primary, secondary, community, social care, VCSE, as well as public & patient engagementCreate reports and papers when required to update the GM Cancer Workforce and Education Board on programme developments and to seek approval for recommended actionAnalyse workforce and education data, training needs analysis and use this to influence the GM Workforce and Education delivery plan and inform future training and education offers / workforce models and service improvementQuality assure the programme against agreed standards and business plans, including for the timeliness and quality of reports and meeting of deadlinesIdentify sources of funding, internal and external, through networking and produce bids in partnership with the Workforce and Education Programme Director and Senior Programme Lead in order to develop and secure new streams of funding to support the delivery of the GM Cancer workforce and education programmeGreater Manchester Cancer Alliance (GM Cancer) is a venture that brings together patients, charities, NHS and academic institutions with the aim of securing world-class cancer outcomes and experience for our population.
