Summary: The Workday Finance Processes & Controls Lead will be responsible for formalizing, documenting, and optimizing finance processes for a high-growth start-up in the financial services sector. This newly created role involves building a structured framework for finance policies and procedures in collaboration with senior finance leadership. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams and external consultants to ensure alignment with system capabilities and internal controls. The role is based on a 6-month contract and requires travel to London/Ipswich up to 2-3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, write, and maintain comprehensive documentation for key finance processes, including accounts payable, expense management, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Create process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), control documentation, and user-friendly guides for using Workday across the finance function.
- Work closely with internal finance teams, Workday system administrators, and external consultants to ensure policies and processes align with system capabilities, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Embed consistency, accountability, and operational efficiency within the finance team.
Key Skills:
- Background in finance operations, internal controls, or finance transformation.
- Experience working with or documenting processes within Workday Financials is highly desirable.
- Ability to translate complex finance workflows into clear, concise documentation suitable for training, onboarding, and audit reference.

A high-growth start-up in the financial services sector is looking to hire a Workday Finance Processes & Controls Lead to formalise, document, and optimise its finance processes and related system workflows
This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to build and own a structured framework for finance policies, procedures, and system usage guides from the ground up, in partnership with the CFO and senior finance leadership.
