Summary: The Workday HCM Functional Lead will oversee the execution of End-to-End test scenarios for a UK Workday deployment, ensuring alignment between business requirements and testing coverage. This role requires extensive experience in Workday HCM, focusing on various modules and compliance with UK-specific regulations. The lead will facilitate workshops, monitor testing progress, and provide hands-on support for issue resolution. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect E2E test scenarios across Workday HCM modules including Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Learning, Talent & Performance, Help, and Journeys.
- Incorporate UK-specific compliance and regulatory requirements such as GDPR and UK employment law.
- Facilitate test alignment workshops with HR SMEs and Workstream Leads to confirm scope, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead test execution workshops, guiding client testers through Workday processes and ensuring accurate scenario execution.
- Monitor test progress across SIT, UAT, and E2E cycles; track KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and escalate risks proactively.
- Act as Workday SME for HCM processes, providing hands-on support for issue resolution, defect reproduction, and process clarification.
- Collaborate with Test Leads and Programme Management to maintain alignment on timelines, quality gates, and reporting.
- Ensure data readiness for UK-specific scenarios including worker records and compensation plans.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation of test outcomes, traceability matrices, and sign-off artefacts.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years overall experience in HR technology or ERP systems with strong functional expertise.
- 5+ years Workday HCM experience, including configuration knowledge and end-to-end process flows.
- Deep understanding of UK HR processes and compliance (employment law, GDPR, statutory reporting).
- Proven ability to design and validate E2E test scenarios and facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of Workday integrations (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors) and their impact on testing.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead in complex, fast-paced programmes.
- Experience with test management tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, ALM) and structured reporting dashboards is preferred.
- Familiarity with test automation for Workday (e.g., Tosca) and ability to identify candidates for automation is a plus.
- Experience working with third-party HR or recruiting systems; exposure to Ivalua for procurement is a plus if cross-functional testing is required.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Workday HCM Functional Lead to architect and facilitate the execution of End-to-End (E2E) test scenarios for a UK Workday deployment. This role will act as the Workday HCM process and application SME , ensuring alignment between business requirements and test coverage.
