Summary: The Workday HCM Functional Lead at WPP is responsible for the design, localization, and deployment of global HR processes across North America, utilizing Workday's suite of HCM modules. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including global process owners and implementation partners, to ensure effective configuration and integration of Workday systems. The position requires a strong understanding of HR functions and the ability to manage complex projects while supporting business users throughout the testing and implementation phases. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of Workday HCM configuration experience and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead local design of business processes across the full suite of HCM processes supported by Workday modules.
- Support markets in understanding Workday design concepts and configuration.
- Facilitate workshops and design review sessions with HR business users and technical resources.
- Assist in defining business requirements and translating them into Workday configuration.
- Complete system configuration and functional specification documents, test plans, and training documentation.
- Collaborate with other functional leads to ensure cohesive design and mitigate cross-functional impacts.
- Support integration design between Workday and internal/external systems.
- Assist the data migration team with data mapping requirements.
- Validate configuration and test Workday to meet local requirements.
- Support business users during testing and manage testing defect triage.
- Help global process owners identify change impacts and develop communication and support materials.
- Conduct knowledge transfer activities and provide warranty support post go-live.
Key Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience with Workday HCM configuration; certification is an advantage.
- Experience implementing Workday for 3+ projects.
- Attention to detail and ability to see the big picture.
- Excellent planning, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Solid understanding of HR functions and business processes in complex organizations.
