WorkDay Business Analyst

Posted 2 days ago by Salt

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workday Business Analyst to join a major multi-year, multi-country Workday HCM transformation programme.

Operating within the global Learning Workstream, you will be key to shaping a state-of-the-art global learning platform across 17 international markets. This initiative represents an enterprise-scale integration bringing together Workday Learning (Front End learner experience) and Sana (Back End AI-driven content generation and translation).

This is a pure core Business Analysis role. You will own the analytical backbone of the workstream-eliciting requirements, defining As-Is/To-Be processes, mapping integration boundaries, and ensuring seamless functional design.

Contract Overview

  • Day Rate: £700 - £750 per day
  • Contract Length: 6 months
  • Working Setup: Hybrid (3 days on-site per week in either Reading or Dublin)
  • IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements & Governance: Lead structured requirements gathering with global L&D leadership and market stakeholders, managing full traceability from Discovery through to signed-off design.
  • Process Mapping: Produce comprehensive As-Is and To-Be process maps across global and 17 market-specific operating models (administration, compliance training, ILT/VILT, reporting).
  • Functional Specification: Translate complex business needs into input for the Workday Learning Config Workbook and High-Level Design (HLD) alongside Solution and Functional Architects.
  • AI & Integration Analysis: Map and document the operational boundaries between Workday and Sana, ensuring clear division between Front End user experience and Back End AI content/translation workflows.
  • Global vs. Local Analysis: Apply systems thinking to manage global design templates against local regulatory/market nuances, escalating trade-offs to formal governance.
  • Compliance & Baseline Scoping: Support mandatory/compliance frameworks (expiry rules, re-certification, attestations) and define quantified learning content migration baselines.

Key Requirements

Essential:

Enterprise BA Track Record: Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst on complex, multi-year HR/HCM technology transformations.

Workday Expertise: Proven experience on Workday implementations; direct experience with Workday Learning is strongly preferred.

Core BA Disciplines: Exceptional skills in structured requirements elicitation, process flow mapping, gap analysis, and system architecture design translation.

Governance Experience: Experience operating within formal methodology gates (Discovery & Design, Design Authority, Playbacks).

Senior Stakeholder Management: Ability to challenge design decisions credibly and liaise comfortably between senior HR/L&D business leaders and technical teams.

Desirable:

Broader exposure to alternative LMS/LXP enterprise solutions.

Familiarity with AI-driven content tools, AI translation models, or adaptive learning engines.

Experience designing learning frameworks for frontline, multi-site, or retail workforces with mobile/offline access constraints.

Exposure to multi-jurisdictional compliance or Works Council/unionized workforce environments.
