Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate witness testing for fixed-axis and tracking solar facilities.
- Monitor weather conditions and communicate with representatives to reschedule testing as needed.
- Ensure all generator loads are disconnected prior to testing and verify readiness.
- Perform testing at disconnects for systems where loads cannot be de-energized.
- Operate and verify metering configurations following procedures.
- Verify operational status of solar and battery generation systems.
- Measure and record voltage and amperage at specified test points.
- Simulate power outages and verify voltage drops.
- Prepare detailed reports of witness testing activities and maintain accurate records.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused professional to join our team as an Electrical Systems Verification & Validation Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all installed electrical systems and equipment meet the performance and safety standards set
Witness Testing Coordination:
- Schedule and coordinate witness testing for fixed-axis and tracking solar facilities, ensuring testing occurs within designated timeframes (10 a.m.-3 p.m. for fixed, from 9 a.m. for tracking).
- Monitor weather conditions and communicate with the GPC Representative to reschedule testing as needed, following proper notification protocols to avoid unnecessary fees.
On-Site Testing Execution:
- Ensure all generator loads connected to the DER bus are disconnected prior to testing; verify readiness before personnel arrive.
- For systems where loads cannot be de-energized, perform testing at the fused or solid blade disconnect, ensuring inverters remain offline for the required duration.
- Operate and verify both self-contained and transformer-rated metering configurations, following step-by-step procedures.
Technical Testing Procedures:
- Verify operational status of solar and battery generation systems using inverter screens, utility meters, monitoring apps, or direct current measurements.
- Measure and record voltage and amperage at specified test points, ensuring voltage remains within 5% of nominal values
- Simulate power outages by removing meters or opening disconnects, verifying voltage drops to 0 VAC within 2 seconds.
- Use stopwatches to confirm inverters remain offline for 5 minutes before resynchronizing with the grid; observe and document the timing of current increases.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare detailed reports of all witness testing activities, including test results, voltage and current readings, timing observations, and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of system status, test outcomes, and Permission to Operate (PTO) approvals.
Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and industry standards throughout all testing activities.
- Ensure all labeling, disconnects, and metering equipment are correctly identified and operated safely.
- Collaborate with generator personnel, contractors, and customers as required, ensuring all parties understand their roles during testing.
