Summary: The Wireless Network Engineer role in Warwick, UK, involves designing, deploying, and optimizing enterprise wireless LAN solutions for office and industrial environments. The position requires a deep understanding of RF fundamentals, WLAN authentication, and experience with large-scale Wi-Fi environments. The engineer will also conduct wireless surveys, troubleshoot complex Wi-Fi issues, and collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions. This is a 6+ month contract with a requirement for on-site presence three days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy and optimise enterprise wireless LAN solutions across office and industrial environments.
- Conduct wireless surveys (predictive & on site), RF analysis and coverage optimisation.
- Lead troubleshooting for complex Wi-Fi issues, including authentication, interference and performance degradation.
- Create and update Low Level Designs (LLDs) for Wi-Fi, NAC and related network services.
- Produce accurate Bill of Materials (BoM) for new deployments, refresh programmes and upgrade initiatives.
- Support Wi-Fi lifecycle management including hardware upgrades, software updates and capacity planning.
- Work with stakeholders across IT, operations and platform teams to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Contribute to standards, best practices, design documentation and knowledge sharing within the network engineering chapter.
Key Skills:
- Deep understanding of RF fundamentals (channel planning, power, interference mitigation).
- Knowledge of 802.11 standards including Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7.
- Experience with WLAN authentication (EAP methods, RADIUS, role-based access).
- Proficiency with wireless survey tools (Ekahau, Hamina etc.).
- Experience with Cradlepoint or similar 5G cellular enabled networking platforms.
- Experience supporting large scale Wi-Fi environments in complex organisations.
- Experience with ISE and Aruba ClearPass for 802.1X, RADIUS, profiling and role-based access.
- Ability to interpret network analytics, performance data and incident trends.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Able to travel ad-hoc to Client locations for onsite pre and post deployment Wi-Fi surveys.
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise WLAN technologies (Cisco, Aruba).
