Summary: The Wintel and VMWare Administrator role involves providing support for migrating and upgrading Windows servers while managing VMware infrastructure. The position requires significant experience in Windows server administration and troubleshooting within a production IT environment. The role is based in Warrington or Gloucester with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring one day per week on-site. This is a contract position with potential for extension, specifically targeting candidates with high-level security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support in migrating and upgrading Windows 2012/2012 R2 Servers to Windows 2016/2019 Servers.
• Manage Windows (AD/DNS/DHCP) and VMware Administration, including patch and image management.
• Administer directory services platforms, including configuration, policy configurations, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in team projects and activities such as new deployments and patch management.
• Install and configure ESXI and build VMware infrastructure from scratch.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of ESX server environments.
• Take responsibility for resolving problems effectively within SLA.

Key Skills:

• Significant experience managing Windows servers and infrastructure, including Active Directory.
• Hands-on experience in Windows 2012 to Windows 2016/2019 OS upgrades.
• Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and IIS.
• Experience in configuring VMware infrastructure, including DRS, HA, and vCenter.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Cluster functionalities for High Availability.
• Experience in backup and recovery of virtual machines.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and working in a 24X7 global environment.
