Summary: The Wing Build Support Engineer role within the Broughton Wing Plant Engineering Team focuses on providing high-quality build support to the Single Aisle and Widebody Component Delivery Teams. The position involves acting as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing, ensuring co-design solutions that meet industrial requirements while maintaining customer perspectives. The engineer will also engage in proactive product improvements and support initiatives to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness. Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the link between Engineering and Manufacturing, ensuring co-design solutions suitable for the industrial system.
  • Support design definition and communicate industrial requirements to the engineering community.
  • Provide 'lineside' build support and act as the focal point for Engineering topics within the Wing Plant CDTs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis investigations into abnormalities arising from design queries.
  • Proactively improve products to reduce recurring costs, non-recurring costs, and non-conformances.
  • Support initiatives to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness through various improvement methods.
  • Maintain and enhance working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Exemplify Airbus Values and demonstrate a willingness to learn and propose solutions.
  • Autonomously analyze, propose, and solve technical problems.
  • Ensure delivery of tasks while adhering to time, cost, and quality parameters.

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of metallic structures (composite knowledge desirable).
  • Experience with design toolsets.
  • Ability to develop IT skills associated with engineering activities.
  • Wing structure knowledge would be advantageous.
