Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing, validating, and deploying applications and systems for Windows 11.
- Performing requirements analysis for application and system readiness.
- Building and configuring Windows 11 systems for compatibility.
- Developing test plans and scripts for manual and automated testing.
- Executing functional, integration, and system testing.
- Managing the defect life cycle and documenting issues.
- Validating core apps and user profiles for transition from Windows 10 to 11.
- Creating and maintaining task sequences for automated builds.
- Supporting configuration of group policies and key applications.
- Collaborating with IT teams for deployment and user readiness.
Key Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role.

I'm currently recruiting for a Windows Platform & Application Tester to support a migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11 for our higher education client, working in their end user team.
Note: This is a part time role - you will be required to be onsite two days per week in the West Midlands.
Essential Skills & Experience required:
Must possess previous experience within a similar role
Knowledge of the following: Intune, SCCM, Windows 10 and Windows 11 is essential.
Previous experience of working for a higher education client or public sector organisation would be beneficial
Responsibilities include:
As the Windows Platform & Application Tester, your role will focus on preparing, validating, and deploying applications and systems in a secure and efficient environment
Performing requirements analysis to determine application and system readiness for Windows 11.
Building and configuring Windows 11 systems, ensuring driver and hardware compatibility.
Developing comprehensive test plans and test scripts for both manual and automated testing of the Windows platform and associated applications.
Executing testing across multiple levels - including functional, integration, and system testing - to ensure application compatibility and system stability.
Managing the defect life cycle, including documenting issues, working with stakeholders to resolve them, and re-testing as needed
Validating and testing core apps and user profiles, confirming smooth transition from Windows 10 to 11.
Creating and maintaining task sequences and scripts for automated builds and rollouts.
Supporting the configuration of group policies, user profiles, and key applications.
Collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to prepare for deployment and ensure user readiness.
