Summary: A leading Independent IT Infrastructure and Services Consultancy is seeking an experienced Windows Engineer to support and develop a hybrid on-prem and cloud environment. The role involves managing Windows Server, VMware, and Azure infrastructure, with a focus on service improvements and documentation. This is a 6-month contract position based in Warrington, requiring a hybrid working arrangement initially on-site for the first three weeks. The role is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Windows Server, VMware, and Azure infrastructure.
- Contribute to service improvements and documentation.
- Install and configure servers, providing support for infrastructure projects.
- Diagnose complex issues and assist in building environments in Azure Local and VMware.
- Build VMs in both HyperV and VMware environments.
- Identify, assess, and remediate critical vulnerabilities across Azure Local, vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Provide Windows support out of hours as needed.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience in VMware management, Azure technologies, and Windows Server.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of lifecycle management, platform hardening, and patch management.
- Experience with EntraID.
- Flexibility to work out of hours for Windows support.

Experience Required
Manage Windows Server, VMware, and Azure infrastructure, contributing to service improvements and documentation.
Installing and configuring servers, providing support for infrastructure projects, and diagnosing complex issues.
To assist in building some environments in Azure Local (based on HyperV) and also on VMware
Building VMs in both hypervisor environments
Experience with Windows Server, and cloud technologies while possessing strong organizational and communication skills.
Extensive experience in VMware management, Azure technologies, Windows Server and EntraID, contributing to a busy and collaborative team environment.
Good knowledge of lifecycle management, platform hardening and patch management
Experience in identifying, assessing, and remediating critical vulnerabilities across Azure Local (HyperV), vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
Flexibility to do Windows support out of hours
