Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Windows Client & Citrix SME to provide third-line support and administration for the Windows Desktop and Active Directory system at an Investment Bank in the City of London. The role involves managing over 2,000 workstations and offers the flexibility of remote work two days a week. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise and leadership experience in Windows Desktop implementation and upgrades. Strong problem-solving skills and scripting abilities are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide analysis, troubleshooting, implementation, administration, security, and maintenance of the Windows Desktop/Active Directory system.
  • Manage end-user Windows domain and handle Windows Desktop implementation projects, including upgrades, GPO, Group and Registry settings, security patching, packaging, and deploying apps.
  • Utilize a variety of Windows utilities such as Appsense Application Control, Symantec Endpoint Protection, and Symantec Altiris software deployment solution.
  • Maintain and manage VMware/Citrix platforms daily.
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and configure new Windows solutions, ensuring their smooth deployment into production service and handover to the operation 2nd line team.
  • Document processes, provide detailed explanations, and demonstrate system configurations to operations teams.

  • Extensive experience as a 3rd line Wintel Support Engineer, with in-depth knowledge of the Windows 10 O/S platform and VMware/Citrix.
  • Proven technical leadership in Windows Desktop implementation and upgrade projects.

  • Strong Scripting abilities in languages such as Java, Python etc., to support deployment routines for Windows 10 and VDI platforms.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage Change, Problem, and Incident Management processes effectively.
