Summary: The Wind Noise Attribute Engineer role at Expleo involves monitoring and optimizing wind noise performance for a leading automotive manufacturer. The position requires acting as the voice of the customer to ensure vehicle quality meets high standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to address issues and support ongoing quality improvements. Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and minimise variability in wind noise performance across current production lines
- Serve as the in-plant representative for wind noise, ensuring the attribute meets its targets through various assessment methods (e.g. objective measurement, subjective drive evaluation, static checks)
- Perform initial root cause investigations on deviations and drive issues through to resolution with responsible teams
- Collaborate closely with the core aeroacoustics team to understand upcoming launches and key attribute characteristics
- Support ongoing quality improvements and integration of attribute learnings into future product launches
Key Skills:
- Experience in an automotive production plant quality role
- Proficiency in engineering problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, 8D, or Root Cause Analysis
- Valid UK driving licence with confidence in subjective vehicle attribute assessments
- Working knowledge of plant attributes such as Squeak & Rattle, Wind Noise, and Water Test procedures
- Familiarity with NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) development, vehicle testing, or component development
- Understanding of vehicle launch processes and quality control in OEM environments (desirable)
- Able to interpret measurement data and make recommendations for continuous improvement (desirable)
