Key Responsibilities:
- Own quality and deliverables for specialist projects, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Lead welding coordination, including WPS/WPQRs, welder qualifications, and WD inspections, and manage NDT activities (MPI, LPI, VT) and Low Pressure Underwater testing.
- Develop and implement Project Quality Plans, hold/witness points, inspections, compile lifetime record packs, and collaborate across engineering, purchasing, and production teams.
- Oversee fabrication and assembly processes, tracking project milestones, risks, costs, and quality impacts.
- Drive root cause analysis and CAPA, translating technical standards into practical shop-floor procedures and instructions.
- Maintain and enhance ISO9001 Quality Management Systems, supporting progression toward AS9100 and Fit for Nuclear certification while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Essential CSWIP 3.1 or PCN Level II welding inspection certification, with hands-on NDT experience (MPI, LPI, VT).
- Proven experience managing specialist engineering or fabrication projects in heavy manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems with practical awareness of ISO9001, AS9100, and Fit for Nuclear standards.
- PRINCE2 Practitioner/APM PMQ/PMP or equivalent formal PM qualification.
