Summary: The Web Integration / Support Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting browser-based web application issues within a global financial services firm. This role emphasizes application layer diagnostics and requires collaboration with various teams to ensure optimal user access and performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of web fundamentals. This position is not focused on building new websites but rather on diagnosing and resolving existing web application issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve web application and browser-related issues affecting user connectivity and access.
  • Lead web integration and compatibility investigations (e.g., authentication flows, cookies/sessions, headers, redirects, browser behaviour, and application-specific issues).
  • Diagnose why a user cannot connect to or load a web page and determine root cause at the application layer before escalating deeper into network layers if required.
  • Work with network and infrastructure teams as needed to isolate root cause across client, browser, network, and upstream application layers.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for troubleshooting patterns, known issues, and operational processes.

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of how modern websites work (HTTP/S, sessions/cookies, redirects, headers, CORS, caching) with the ability to diagnose site breakage and compatibility issues.
  • Confident using browser developer tools and traces (network waterfall, HAR files, console errors) to pinpoint root cause and define remediation steps.
  • Experience investigating SSO flows (e.g., SAML, OAuth), redirect loops, session drops, and related login issues.
  • Experience diagnosing issues within complex enterprise web environments and documenting repeatable fixes.
  • Clear communicator; able to work with application, infrastructure, and network teams; produces usable documentation and runbooks.
  • Experience working in enterprise or financial services environments.
  • Familiarity with DNS, TCP/IP and general networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash for troubleshooting or log analysis.
  • Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.

Job Description We are seeking a skilled Web Integration Engineer to join an Endpoint Technology team within a global financial services firm. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in troubleshooting browser-based web application issues, with primary emphasis on application layer (Layer 7) diagnostics, browser behaviour and web application compatibility. This role requires strong web fundamentals, structured troubleshooting capability and the ability to partner effectively with application, infrastructure, and networking teams to ensure seamless user access and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in IT, have strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal skills and be a strong team player. This is an integration/troubleshooting role focused on web application behaviour and browser-level diagnostics; it is not a role for building new websites or product UI.

  • Exposure to secure web gateway or browser isolation platforms (eg, Menlo, Zscaler, Netskope) is beneficial but not required.
  • Network Fundamentals: Familiarity with DNS, TCP/IP and general networking concepts.
  • Scripting and Automation: Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash for troubleshooting or log analysis.
  • Cloud Environments: Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
