Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on the end-to-end journey of a service to help users complete their goal through the creation of, or change to, a webpage, website, transaction, or software application.
  • Establish, clarify, and document the required user experience, users' characteristics, and tasks.
  • Lead the iterative design/development of user tasks, interaction, and interfaces to meet user requirements.
  • Review and challenge business processes, recommending changes that maximize the use of digital initiatives.
  • Support the RBKC Website Improvement Project team by managing website content to meet digital service standards.

Key Skills:

  • Educated to bachelor degree level or holds a relevant professional qualification.
  • Systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem-solving.

Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Work on the end-to-end journey of a service to help users complete their goal through the creation of, or change to, a webpage, website, transaction, or software application, ensuring content is shown to a user in the right place and in the best format.
  • Establish, clarify, and document the required user experience, users' characteristics, and tasks, identifying the best format to provide information about Council services and online transactions.
  • Lead the iterative design/development of user tasks, interaction, and interfaces to meet user requirements, considering the whole user experience, and refining design solutions in response to user-centered evaluation.
  • Review and challenge business processes, recommending changes that maximize the use of digital initiatives.
  • Support the RBKC Website Improvement Project team by deleting, condensing, curating, publishing, and maintaining website content, ensuring it meets the Local Government Digital Service Standard (LGDSS), the Government Design Principles, and Web Content Accessibility Standards.

  • Educated to bachelor degree level or holds a relevant professional qualification.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Shows a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem-solving and pays close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates a concern and aptitude for considering the user's perspective in IT development.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and is fully experienced at dealing with clients/users.
  • Possesses a broad understanding of business and business activities, understanding the significance of commercial constraints, and has a deep understanding of user aspects of interactive systems.
  • Expert in the methods and techniques for eliciting the context of use, user needs, analyzing context of use, and generating user requirements. Familiar with tools for representing system requirements.
