Summary: Astute’s Power team is seeking a Warranty / Defect Manager for an Operational Waste to Energy facility near Glasgow. The role involves overseeing warranty-related issues, conducting site inspections, and managing defect resolutions. The position offers a competitive day rate and is classified as outside IR35. The contract is initially for 9 months with a potential extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the client representative overseeing all warranty-related issues on an operational Waste-to-Energy plant.
- Conduct detailed site inspections to identify performance issues and construction defects.
- Instruct and liaise with the EPC contractor to address and resolve defects in line with the warranty terms.
- Manage the defect resolution log and ensure timely rectification of all reported issues.
- Monitor EPC contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract obligations and technical specifications.
- Provide regular updates and technical reports to the client project team.
- Coordinate with site operations and maintenance teams to assess and report defects impacting performance or safety.
- Support root cause analysis and recommend technical solutions to recurring issues.
- Ensure warranty claims are fully documented and follow appropriate contractual procedures.
- Preferably experienced with CNIM Waste-to-Energy technology and project delivery.
- Strong engineering background (mechanical, process, or electrical).
- Proven experience managing warranty/defect resolution on large energy infrastructure projects.
- Prior involvement with CNIM technology or projects highly desirable (not essential).

The Warranty / Defect Manager comes with a day rate from £600.00 to £650.00 This role is outside of IR35.
