Summary: The Warehouse Operative / Forklift Driver at Viva Nylons will be responsible for the efficient and safe handling of materials within the warehouse, ensuring smooth operations in alignment with company procedures. This role involves picking, packing, and managing inventory, as well as operating mechanical lifting equipment. The position requires effective communication and teamwork to support various warehouse functions and maintain safety standards. Candidates should have relevant experience and a valid forklift license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently & safely pick, pack and handle material in alignment with company procedures
  • Administrate despatch paperwork including interaction with customer portals to create advance shipping notes
  • Safe operation of mechanical lifting equipment
  • Manual handling, including the physical movement of goods via mechanical handling equipment
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles in a safe manner
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and stock locations
  • Support on all stocktakes
  • Accurately enter data onto the system
  • Support in delivering goods between sites and to customers
  • Print off labels and paperwork as and when required
  • Safe disposal of materials / waste across the business
  • Support manufacturing and production and other areas of the business when required
  • Ensure that all warehouse areas are kept clean, tidy and free from hazards at all times and in line with company health and safety policy

Key Skills:

  • At least one year’s experience in a similar role within a warehouse environment
  • Full UK driving and Forklift Licence – Counterbalance minimum, ideally also Reach
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work well with others, be self-motivated, multi-task and prioritize daily
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Exposure to an ERP system would be helpful but not essential
  • Flexibility and responsiveness in support of business needs

Hours | Hours of work will be 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday with a daily 30-minute break

The Role:

The Warehouse Operative will work alongside the warehouse and scheduling team to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the department.
