Key Responsibilities:

  • Check demographic details on patient admission and discharge.
  • Arrange transport for patients attending other hospitals or departments.
  • Answer telephone calls, take messages, and transfer calls as necessary.
  • Coordinate outpatient appointments with clinic clerks prior to discharge.
  • Prepare discharged patients' paperwork for scanning.
  • Provide support to nursing staff for general patient requests.
  • Liaise with Informatics regarding electronic equipment.
  • Update criteria to reside information for all patients daily.

Key Skills:

  • NVQ 2 in a relevant subject or equivalent administrative experience.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of NHS administrative processes.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
