Summary: The role of Advanced Social Worker at Social Care Direct involves being the first point of contact for new referrals to Wakefield Council, focusing on triage, urgent responses, advice, and safeguarding support. The position requires an experienced professional to operate in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that urgent cases receive immediate attention while providing support and guidance to service users and professionals. Key Responsibilities:
- Triage new referrals, ensuring urgent cases receive immediate attention.
- Provide advice, information, and signposting to service users and professionals.
- Assess and manage requests for social care assessments and safeguarding referrals.
- Attend multi-agency meetings and champion new initiatives and team developments.
- Lead as a Best Interest Assessor, AMHP, Practice Educator, or ASYE Assessor.
- Deliver short-term and crisis intervention work (non-case-holding role).
Key Skills:
- Qualified and registered Social Worker (Social Work England).
- Experience in triaging referrals, safeguarding, and crisis intervention.
- Strong communication skills, particularly over the phone.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
