VXRail SME

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced VxRail SME to support our infrastructure team on a part-time contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Dell EMC VxRail, VMware vSAN, and Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) environments. You will be responsible for advising on architecture, supporting upgrades and migrations, and ensuring the platform runs optimally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the subject matter expert for Dell EMC VxRail deployments and management

• Provide technical leadership during planning, deployment, and support phases

• Assist with system upgrades, patching, and proactive maintenance

• Troubleshoot performance and configuration issues across the HCI stack

• Collaborate with internal infrastructure, security, and cloud teams

• Document architecture, procedures, and configuration changes

• Train and support in-house IT staff on VxRail best practices

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience working with Dell EMC VxRail and VMware vSphere/vSAN

• Deep knowledge of HCI architecture, storage, compute, and networking layers

• Hands-on experience with VxRail lifecycle management, upgrades, and troubleshooting

• Experience working in complex IT environments with high availability requirements

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently on a part-time basis

Preferred Qualifications:

• VxRail Deployment and Implementation certification(s)

• Familiarity with VMware NSX or vRealize Suite

• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance)

Contract Details:

• Location: LA-based candidates preferred; hybrid or onsite work required at times

• Schedule: Flexible part-time hours (24 hours/week)

• Compensation: Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)

• Duration: 6 months with possible extension
