Summary: The VMware Infrastructure Product Owner role is focused on leading a team of VMware engineers to enhance the strategy and reliability of a large-scale enterprise virtualization platform within a global financial services context. The position requires extensive experience in VMware technologies and infrastructure engineering, along with strong leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the platform vision and driving automation and reliability improvements. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to implement best practices and ensure platform resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of VMware engineers within an engineering POD
- Define and drive the VMware platform vision, strategy, and lifecycle
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise VMware environments
- Drive automation and reliability improvements across infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Applications, and Vendors
- Implement SRE best practices, monitoring, and platform resilience
Key Skills:
- 15+ years of IT experience with strong infrastructure engineering background
- Deep expertise in VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter, vROPS, vRO, vRLI, vRLCM)
- Strong experience in automation using PowerCLI, Python, Ansible, or vRealize workflows
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, storage, and high-availability architectures
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in large enterprise or financial services environments preferred
