Job Description
We are seeking 2 x skilled Virtualization Engineer's to join our Edinburgh based clients Server Team. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the operational integrity of various virtualized environments and related services. You will also play a consultant role for internal customers by providing troubleshooting, user support, education, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage ESX hosts.
- Troubleshoot VMware host issues.
- Support networks with standard and distributed switches.
- Patch VMware hosts and troubleshoot environmental performance issues.
- Assist other teams with VM server troubleshooting.
- Utilise PowerShell Scripting and automation for efficient operations.
- Conduct vCenter operations and have knowledge of SAN/storage.
- Engage in project planning activities.
- Create and modify operational and process documentation for VMware environments.
- Conduct operational reviews of VMware infrastructure configuration.
Essential Skills
- Basic knowledge in supporting a VMware vSphere Infrastructure including ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN.
- Proven experience in problem-solving within VMware administration.
- Ability to troubleshoot, interpret logs, and analyze performance data.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- VMware Certification (VCP) is preferred but non-essential.
- experience with disaster recovery methodology is desirable.
- Strong communication skills for presenting information and interpreting complex data.
