Summary: The role of VMWare Engineer focuses on automating and building products for core infrastructure within the telecommunications industry. The engineer will collaborate with In-Life Operations and product engineering teams to enhance software engineering practices and ensure compliance with security standards. This position requires a strong technical background in VMware, networking, and cloud technologies, particularly RedHat. The role is contract-based for six months with potential for extension, emphasizing a product-focused approach in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with IaaS patterns and security principles.
  • Reinforce design consistency and identify areas for improvement, developing solutions that evolve with business direction.
  • Collaborate with automation teams to create an automated BAU change catalogue and ensure scalability.
  • Build and maintain documentation for repeatable design usage.
  • Schedule automated changes in alignment with company objectives and customer requirements.
  • Work with product managers and engineering teams to create cohesive strategies and roadmaps.
  • Foster a customer-focused and data-driven environment.
  • Engage with internal partners in Telco Cloud and help evolve automated Cloud management practices.

  • Understanding of transitioning current estates to new networks
  • Network Security experience with Routers, Switches, and ORAN

  • Capability to perform full design and implementation of applications
  • Experience as 3rd Line Support and managing life cycle events
