Summary: My client in professional services is seeking a consultant to enhance their security and compliance capabilities through various operational improvements. The role involves optimizing logs, improving incident response, and integrating with existing systems. The position is based in Croydon and is expected to last for one month with potential extensions. The consultant will work outside IR35 and is required to have SC clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve security incident response capability and observability.
- Integrate with Splunk Cloud and Cisco Nexus 9000 Series.
- Enhance security and compliance management capabilities.
- Conduct capacity planning, trend analysis, and sustainability reporting.
- Monitor application and database performance, including Windows Active Directory and RHEL Identity Manager.
- Review existing VCF Operations and provide best practice feedback.
- Configure solutions to meet customer requirements and provide knowledge transfer to operation teams.
Key Skills:
- Experience with VMware Services and VCF Operations.
- Knowledge of security incident response and compliance management.
- Familiarity with Splunk Cloud and Cisco Nexus 9000 Series.
- Ability to conduct capacity planning and trend analysis.
- Experience in application and database monitoring.
- Strong communication skills for knowledge transfer.

Log optimisation . Improve security incident response capability. Improve observability and forensic capability. Integration with Splunk Cloud. Intelligent alerting and proactive monitoring.
Enhance security, compliance and threat intelligence . Integration with Cisco Nexus 9000 Series. Enhance security and compliance management capability. Enhance network performance optimisation and troubleshooting capacity. Requirements - VCF Operation VMware Services Entitlement
Monitoring of resource utilisation and alerting . Capacity planning and trend analysis. Sustainability reporting. Cost analysis. Compliance monitoring/reporting. Application and database monitoring. Windows Active Directory monitoring. RHEL Identity Manager. BAU infrastructure management. Alerting and notification configuration. Dashboards and reporting configuration.
Review the existing VCF Operations, VCF Operations for Logs and VCF Operations for Networks deployments
Provide best practice feedback on architecture and scaling as necessary. Configure the solutions as required to deliver the desired capabilities and to satisfy the customer requirements. Provide knowledge transfer and upskilling to customer operation teams as required.
