Summary: The Vendor Manager role involves overseeing and enhancing performance across multiple managed service providers (MSPs) as part of a significant infrastructure transformation program. The successful candidate will manage vendor relationships, ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and support procurement activities. This position is critical in fostering collaboration between the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) and its strategic partners. The role is hybrid and offers a maximum term contract until December 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day performance of multiple MSPs delivering infrastructure and application migration services.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with contractual terms, service levels, and scope of work.
- Facilitate timely resolution of contractual variations (positive and negative) in accordance with agreed processes.
- Navigate contractual ambiguity to drive fair and pragmatic outcomes that support delivery objectives.
- Act as a key liaison between internal delivery teams and vendors, ensuring alignment on goals and priorities.
- Prevent escalation into legal disputes by fostering a collaborative, delivery-focused vendor relationship.
- Support governance processes, including performance reviews, reporting, and issue escalation.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to vendor performance and contractual obligations.
- Assist in managing procurement processes to ensure vendor engagements are completed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in a timely manner.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in vendor management, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or application migration programs.
- Strong understanding of managed service contracts, including SLAs, KPIs, and variation management.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply contractual terms pragmatically to support delivery outcomes.
- Experience supporting or managing procurement processes in a complex IT environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Experience working in complex, multi-vendor environments with competing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, data centre operations, and enterprise application landscapes is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a related field.
- Certifications in vendor management, contract management, procurement, or IT service management (e.g., ITIL, CIPS, or similar) are a plus.
