Summary: The Vehicle Package Engineer role involves creating vehicle concept proposals and developing detailed vehicle packages for a luxury automotive OEM based in Gaydon. The position requires collaboration across various technical areas to resolve geometric issues and enhance vehicle integration. This is a contract position with a focus on product development within vehicle packaging. The role demands a strong background in vehicle systems and CAD software, particularly CATIA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation of vehicle concept proposals in the form of vehicle architecture package layouts.
  • Creation of outline component and system proposals to further the vehicle package development.
  • Definition and development of detailed vehicle packages at the whole vehicle or package zone level.
  • Tracking and monitoring resolution of all geometric issues within a package zone.
  • Mediation and negotiation between CoC areas to develop solutions for geometric issues within a package zone.

Key Skills:

  • At least 2 years' experience in product development within vehicle integration or packaging role.
  • Experience of CATIA V5 & V6 for detail or packaging design and geometric integration.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of chassis & propulsion systems and sub systems.
  • Experience of negotiating solutions in an area of technical conflict.
  • Experience of using benchmarking tools to support idea generation.
  • Experience of CATIA for detail or packaging design. (Other 3D CAD experience will be considered).
  • Good communication skills - written, graphical and verbal.

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM based in Gaydon who are seeking a Vehicle package Engineer to join their team on a rolling contract basis working 40 hours per week

Job Description
