Summary: The Vehicle Operations Specialist role involves ensuring the quality and readiness of vehicles for delivery, including cleaning, inspections, and transportation between locations. This position is based in Portland and is a 3-month contract with specific working hours. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining an organized and safe lot while supporting leadership with additional tasks. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure vehicles meet quality standards by washing exteriors and cleaning/preparing interiors.
- Transport customer and fleet vehicles between primary and secondary locations.
- Guide vehicles through the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) process, including cosmetic inspections, dynamic test drives, and the use of tools such as compressed air systems and torque wrenches.
- Utilize computer systems and software efficiently, including Microsoft Office and internal platforms.
- Perform quality control checks on delivery-ready vehicles and coordinate defect reporting with the service department.
- Maintain vehicle readiness for delivery at all times.
- Keep the lot organized and safe, ensuring all drive lanes are accessible and hazard-free.
- Inspect, prepare, and stage customer trade-ins for auction transport.
- Support leadership with additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in operations, logistics, or lot management; automotive, EV, or detailing experience is a plus.
- Experience with service writing and work order creation preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license in your state/province of residence or commuting location.
- Clean driving record with no drug/alcohol-related driving offenses in the past 3 years.
- No more than one serious moving violation in the past 3 years.
- No license suspensions or revocations within the last 3–5 years.
- Subject to ongoing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
