Summary: The Vehicle Emissions Test Technician role involves working within a leading Automotive Research and Development Team for a Global Automotive Manufacturer near Milton Keynes/Bedford. The technician will be responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and testing of vehicles and components, focusing on emissions and performance issues. This position requires a hands-on approach in a dynamic testing environment, contributing to the development of future vehicles. Candidates must possess relevant qualifications and experience in emissions testing and vehicle systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead investigations into faults and performance issues.
- Assemble and disassemble parts, components, or vehicles for testing.
- Conduct Vehicle Exhaust Emission and EV Range testing.
- Operate Vehicle Chassis Dynamometer.
- Drive emissions test cycles to WLTP Standard.
- Perform real drive emissions on-road testing.
- Conduct emissions analysis measurement.
Key Skills:
- Educated to City & Guilds / BTEC / IMI / NVQ Level 3.
- Experience with emissions/test systems such as Horiba or AVL.
- Understanding of vehicle disassembly, assembly, and maintenance techniques.
- Vehicle system knowledge with fault-finding ability.
- Desirable electronic/electrical background in automotive.
- Understanding of vehicle diagnostic tools (e.g., CAN).
- Valid UK driving licence and capability to travel.
