  • Preparing UK VAT returns
  • Reviewing and improving the Group's tax control environment and maintaining documentation
  • Providing tax advice and support on various projects alongside the Head of Tax

Key Skills:

  • Qualifications such as CTA, ACA, ACCA (or part-qualified)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret complex information clearly
  • Ideally, experience with VAT returns, Alphatax software, or preparing tax disclosures under IFRS (though not essential)

Your new role

This is a key job within the tax team, playing a crucial role in ensuring the Groupmeets its tax reporting, filing and payment obligations across indirect taxes.You will also be involved in enhancing the Group's tax control environment andsupporting wider business projects with tax insights. Key responsibilitiesinclude:

  • Assisting with the preparation of tax disclosures for Group and subsidiary statutory accounts
  • Preparing and submittingcorporation tax returns for Group companies
  • Preparing UK VAT returns
  • Reviewing and improving theGroup's tax control environment and maintaining documentation
  • Providing tax advice andsupport on various projects alongside the Head of Tax

What you'll need to succeed

We're looking for a Manchester-based VAT accountant who is either fully qualified or part-qualified with at leasttwo years' experience in a tax-focused role, either within industry orprofessional services. You'll have:

  • Qualifications such as CTA,ACA, ACCA (or part-qualified)
  • Excellent communicationskills, both verbal and written
  • Strong numeracy, analyticalskills, and the ability to interpret complex information clearly
  • Ideally, experience with VATreturns, Alphatax software, or preparing tax disclosures under IFRS(though not essential)
