Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit monthly or quarterly VAT returns and related filings (such as EC Sales Lists, SAF-T, Intrastat)
- Reconcile VAT general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Provide VAT compliance support and advice to stakeholders in different markets
- Keep up to date with VAT legislation and ensure ongoing compliance
- Work with tax technology teams to implement process improvements and automation
- Assist with audits, documentation, and communications with tax authorities
- Support efforts to standardise VAT processes across the region
Key Skills:
- At least 2 years of VAT compliance experience, ideally in a multinational or shared services environment
- Familiarity with SAP or Oracle is an advantage
- Strong Excel skills and confidence handling data
- Detail-oriented and able to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Fluent in English (other European languages are a bonus)
- Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working across teams and cultures

I’m working with a leading global pharmaceutical organisation that is looking to strengthen its European Tax Centre of Excellence by bringing on board a VAT Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid VAT compliance experience to step into a regional position with international scope. You’ll handle VAT reporting across multiple European jurisdictions and play an active role in streamlining processes, managing risk, and supporting automation initiatives.
