Summary: The role of Validation Engineer involves supporting the Product Engineering Development department at the Stafford facility, focusing on the validation of new diesel engine technology and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing engineering activities, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. This position is a 12-month contract with the potential for extension and requires collaboration with teams in the UK and India. The role is classified as inside IR35, indicating specific tax implications for contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in engine validation gained from diesel, petrol or gas engine development.
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience with internal combustion engine validation planning and execution.
  • Experience in FMEA, validation plans definition and work/test instructions.
  • Familiar with the 8D method and root cause analysis tools.
  • Working knowledge of industrial diesel engine systems including, but not limited to, fuel systems, cooling, turbocharging, lubrication.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (eg CANape, CANcase, Signalyzer, Osiris, etc.).
  • Excellent organisation, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • PC literacy, excellent use of all MS Office components.
  • High standard of written technical reporting.
  • Mechanical verification and validation of diesel engines, components and systems.
  • Defining and managing engine, system and component validation plans.
  • Coordination of day-to-day engineering activity and management of test and analysis activity.
  • Failure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methods.
  • Technical reporting.
  • Conducting all work to company operating procedures and local work methods in order to meet compliance with quality standards.
  • Support to the design function is required through FMEA process.
  • The role will provide the opportunity for collaboration with platform teams-based UK & India facilities.
  • Working closely with global colleagues.
  • Occasional overseas travel may be necessary as required by business needs.
  • Engineering degree or other equivalent qualification/experience.

Rate: £40-43/hour INSIDE IR35

Hours: 37 per week - Mon - Thurs 08:00 - 16:30/Fri 08:00 - 13:00

Duration: 12 months (potential of rolling extension)

About the Role

We are seeking a Diesel Engine Validation Engineer to support our Product Engineering Development department at the Stafford facility. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivering engineering activity as part of the diesel product development activity. This role involves validation of new diesel engine technology and systems, analysing data and trends, root cause corrective action and validation of corrective actions.
