Summary: The UX Consultant will spearhead the development of IT user personas to enhance STW’s digital workplace and strategic programmes. This role integrates user research, service design, and IT strategy to create actionable persona artefacts that guide future IT services and transformation initiatives. The consultant will engage stakeholders, define persona frameworks, and analyze user data to inform strategic recommendations. The position requires a strong background in UX strategy and service design, with a focus on enterprise IT personas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead stakeholder engagement to align persona objectives with business and IT strategy
  • Define the persona framework, including roles, environments, motivations, behaviours, and pain points
  • Design and validate “Day in the Life” scenarios
  • Create end-to-end journey maps showing IT touchpoints and experience gaps
  • Analyse qualitative (interviews, surveys) and quantitative inputs (telemetry, usage data)
  • Produce strategic IT recommendations informed by persona insights
  • Ensure persona artefacts are reusable, accessible, and traceable to research data
  • Conduct interviews, surveys, and usability research
  • Capture user behaviours, mobility needs, pain points, and digital dexterity
  • Develop personas, empathy maps, and journey maps
  • Validate persona assumptions through data and user feedback loops

Key Skills:

  • Strong UX strategy and service design background
  • Proven experience developing enterprise IT personas (EUC, Digital Workplace)
  • Ability to translate user insights into IT strategy and service improvement actions
  • Strong stakeholder-facing skills, including facilitation and presentation
  • Expertise in qualitative & quantitative research methodologies
  • Experience designing and analysing surveys
  • Background supporting enterprise IT or workplace transformation programmes

UX Consultant – IT User Personas

Location: Coventry - Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite

Start day: ASAP

Contractor rate: £500 per day inside IR35

Duration: 6 months initially

Role Summary

The UX Consultant will lead the end-to-end development of IT user personas to shape and enhance STW’s digital workplace, EUC, and M365 strategic programmes. This role blends user research, service design, and IT strategy—turning qualitative and quantitative insight into actionable persona artefacts that inform future IT services, experience improvements, and transformation initiatives.

  • Documentation substantiating persona attributes
