Summary: The Utilities Maintenance Engineer role involves delivering both reactive and planned maintenance for utilities at a fast-paced FMCG site in Manchester. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring the performance of utilities such as steam, boilers, and HVAC systems to support efficient production. This position requires a strong focus on safety and compliance with health and environmental regulations. The role operates Monday to Friday from 6.30 am to 3 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- First response for site utilities (steam, boilers, air, water, effluent, BMS, HVAC)
- Carry out maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
- Maintain utility performance to meet production needs
- Ensure H&S, environmental, and statutory compliance
- Support installations, inspections, and emergency call-outs
Key Skills:
- NVQ Level 3 or recognised apprenticeship
- BOAS or equivalent steam/boiler certification
- Experience with boilers and steam systems
- Strong safety focus and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings
