Summary: The Utilities Maintenance Engineer role involves delivering both reactive and planned maintenance for utilities at a fast-paced FMCG site in Manchester. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring the performance of utilities such as steam, boilers, and HVAC systems to support efficient production. This position requires a strong focus on safety and compliance with health and environmental regulations. The role operates Monday to Friday from 6.30 am to 3 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • First response for site utilities (steam, boilers, air, water, effluent, BMS, HVAC)
  • Carry out maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
  • Maintain utility performance to meet production needs
  • Ensure H&S, environmental, and statutory compliance
  • Support installations, inspections, and emergency call-outs

Key Skills:

  • NVQ Level 3 or recognised apprenticeship
  • BOAS or equivalent steam/boiler certification
  • Experience with boilers and steam systems
  • Strong safety focus and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings

Salary (Rate): £40.00/hour

We’re recruiting a Utilities Maintenance Engineer for a fast-paced FMCG site in Manchester. Reporting to the Team Leader, you’ll deliver both reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring all utilities support efficient production.

Key Duties:

  • First response for site utilities (steam, boilers, air, water, effluent, BMS, HVAC)
  • Carry out maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
  • Maintain utility performance to meet production needs
  • Ensure H&S, environmental, and statutory compliance
  • Support installations, inspections, and emergency call-outs

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or recognised apprenticeship
