Summary: The Senior User Researcher role is a 3-month contract based in London, focusing on enhancing the subscription experience through impactful user research. The position involves leading research initiatives that inform both tactical improvements and strategic redesigns, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The role requires a hands-on approach to uncover insights that drive user-centric design across web and app experiences. The position is inside IR35, with a daily rate of £450 - £500.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct user research to validate freemium models, pricing strategies, and monetisation opportunities.
  • Lead discovery activities including interviews, usability testing, and concept validation for flexible product experiences.
  • Design and execute research plans that support both short-term tactical changes and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Analyse and synthesise findings into clear, actionable insights that inform product and design decisions.
  • Work closely with designers, product managers, and business stakeholders to align research with commercial goals.
  • Champion human-centred design, accessibility, and usability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Communicate insights through compelling reports, presentations, and workshops that influence decision-making.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience delivering user research for digital products, ideally within e-commerce or subscription-based SaaS.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including usability testing, interviews, and surveys.
  • Ability to frame research questions, define hypotheses, and choose the right methodologies.
  • Confidence working in ambiguous problem spaces and bringing clarity through evidence.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with remote research tools (e.g. UserTesting) and analytics platforms.
  • A commercial mindset, balancing user needs with business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to translate insights into practical recommendations that drive measurable impact.

Location: London (Hybrid) – 2 days per week in our Victoria office, with regular travel to Nottingham

We’re looking for a Senior User Researcher to help shape the future of our subscription experience. In this hands-on role, you’ll lead impactful research that informs both tactical improvements and longer-term strategic redesigns. Your work will uncover insights that drive clarity, value, and seamless user journeys across web and app experiences. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams, playing a key role in ensuring decisions are grounded in strong evidence and real user needs.
