Summary: The UX/UI Designer role is a 6-month contract position based in the City of London, requiring a senior designer proficient in both UX and UI. The designer will lead the creation of user-centered digital experiences for web and mobile platforms while mentoring junior designers and influencing design strategy. Collaboration with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders is essential to ensure high-quality design delivery. The position is hybrid, allowing for on-site work up to once a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead UX/UI design across web and mobile applications
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs
- Contribute to and evolve component-based design systems
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and apply data-driven insights
- Ensure designs meet accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design standards
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams
- Clearly articulate and justify design decisions to stakeholders
- Mentor junior designers and help shape overall design strategy
Key Skills:
- Strong UX/UI design experience with a demonstrable portfolio
- Expert use of Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD
- Solid background in visual design and design systems
- Strong understanding of responsive design and accessibility (WCAG)
- Experience with user research and usability testing
- Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, React, TypeScript
- Understanding of reusable components, basic state management, routing, and API integration
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
