Summary: The Unix System Administrator role involves providing 2nd and 3rd line technical support while ensuring operational systems are effectively managed. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to liaise with stakeholders to deliver support functions. The role is hybrid, requiring three days on-site work per week. The contract duration is six months with an inside IR35 classification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 2nd and 3rd line technical support for operational systems.
• Monitor systems and perform troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
• Respond to users within set service level agreements (SLA's) and operating level agreements (OLA's).
• Maintain attention to detail and meet agreed build standards.
• Participate in on-call support as required after training.

Key Skills:

• Detailed knowledge of UNIX/AIX, VMWare, and Linux.
• Experience with help desk systems and managing service requests/incidents/problems.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Proactive approach and ability to work as a team player.
• Understanding of ITIL framework (nice to have).
• Knowledge of IBM storage and SAN configuration (nice to have).
• Familiarity with Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), and Oracle Databases (nice to have).
