Key Responsibilities:
- Process incoming data accurately and on time, ensuring it meets internal quality standards.
- Produce monthly underwriting performance reports to help track progress and spot trends.
- Support the Underwriting Analysis Manager in preparing reports on key performance indicators.
- Provide general administrative support across the underwriting team, including ad hoc tasks.
- Work with internal departments to improve IT systems and contribute to efficiency projects.
- Communicate professionally with business partners and capacity providers.
- Log and manage key data entries, including premiums, policies, endorsements, quotes, renewals, and submissions.
Key Skills:
- At least 5 A-C equivalent Grade GCSEs including English, Maths, and preferably ICT.
- Strong analytical interest with excellent academic results, particularly in Maths.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel; understanding of databases or data handling is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with MS Office suite.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Role Summary
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Underwriting Analysis Apprentice to join our forward-thinking Specialist Consumer Team. This is a brand-new opportunity created for someone who wants to learn by doing. You’ll be involved in real underwriting projects from day one – supporting both clients and internal teams and discovering how key insurance decisions are made behind the scenes. It’s a fast-paced, hands-on role where your ideas and effort will make a real impact. As part of your journey, you’ll complete a Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship and study for your CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) exams, giving you a recognised qualification and a strong foundation for a long-term career in insurance.
By the end of your apprenticeship programme, you will be able to carry out the following role accountabilities :
- Process incoming data accurately and on time , ensuring it meets internal quality standards.
- Produce monthly underwriting performance reports, helping the business track progress and spot trends.
- Support the Underwriting Analysis Manager in preparing reports on key performance indicators for both Rokstone and the Aventum Group Executive Committees.
- Provide general administrative support across the underwriting team, including ad hoc tasks for Rokstone Management and Consumer Division Underwriters.
- Work with internal departments to improve how our IT systems operate, and contribute to related projects that drive efficiency.
- Communicate professionally with Rokstone’s business partners and capacity providers, representing the team with confidence.
- Log and manage key data entries, including premiums, policies, endorsements, quotes, renewals, and submissions.
Role Requirements
At least 5 A-C equivalent Grade GCSE’s including English, Maths and preferably ICT. Strong analytical interest, demonstrated through excellent academic results, particularly strong grades in Maths (A Level or equivalent). Subjects such as Business, Computer Science, Geography or Science are also highly relevant. Given the analytical and detail-oriented nature of the role, candidates should show a clear aptitude for data, statistics and numerical analysis, even where formal work experience is limited. Experience using Microsoft Excel is highly desirable, with any understanding of databases or data handling considered a strong advantage.
Skills and Abilities
