Summary: The HR Business Partner role at a progressive commercial business in Portsmouth involves leading strategic HR projects while providing operational support in employee relations. The position requires collaboration with the senior leadership team and a hands-on approach to HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic insight and practical HR experience, particularly in managing change and working with a blue-collar workforce. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract offering opportunities for impactful contributions to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop strategic HR projects such as employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and apprenticeship schemes.
- Coach and upskill managers in their people management capabilities.
- Interpret HR needs across departments and provide commercial advice.
- Update and standardise HR policies and procedures.
Key Skills:
- CIPD qualified with proven experience as a HR Business Partner or similar role.
- Experience dealing with Trade Unions.
- Knowledge of HR change management and TUPE is beneficial.
- Experience managing projects and working with a blue-collar workforce.
- Ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
- Commercially astute with practical HR application knowledge.
