UI Frontend Lead Engineer - React & AEM - London UK

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced UI Frontend Lead Engineer with strong expertise in modern Front End technologies, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), and Generative AI-powered development tools such as Anthropic Claude and Claude Code.

The ideal candidate will lead Front End architecture and engineering practices, develop scalable and high-performance enterprise digital platforms, and drive the adoption of AI-assisted development to improve engineering productivity and delivery efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Requirements

• Lead Front End architecture and development using React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Design scalable, reusable UI components, design systems and micro-frontend architectures.
• Drive enterprise-level Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) implementations, including AEM Sites, Core Components, Editable Templates and Client Libraries.
• Work with Headless AEM, Content Fragment APIs, GraphQL and REST API integrations.
• Leverage Anthropic Claude and Claude Code for AI-assisted coding, code generation, debugging, refactoring and documentation.
• Establish Front End engineering standards, best practices and development workflows.
• Drive Front End performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, accessibility (WCAG), SEO and responsive design.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or equivalent tools.
• Implement testing strategies using Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress.
• Work with AWS cloud environments and collaborate with architects, UX/UI designers and engineering teams.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and guide distributed Front End engineering teams.

Must-Have Skills

• 10+ years of frontend/UI engineering experience.
• Expert-level React.js, Next.js and TypeScript.
• Strong enterprise-level Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) experience.
• Experience with AEM Headless, GraphQL, REST APIs and reusable component architecture.
• Practical hands-on experience with Anthropic Claude/Claude Code.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, CI/CD and Front End performance optimization.
• Proven experience in Front End technical leadership and architecture.

A hands-on Frontend Lead Engineer or Frontend Architect who combines deep React/Next.js expertise with enterprise AEM architecture experience and practical exposure to Claude AI-powered software development.
